Windmoeller & Hoelscher welcomed more than 1,200 invited members of the flexible packaging trade to an in-house exhibition of new and current machinery in Lengerich, Germany, Nov. 10–12. Promoting a message of “It's time for new innovations,” the event introduced attendees to the newest converting equipment and latest developments in film extrusion and printing.

The supplier demonstrated five film lines, two of which were introduced at the in-house event. One new line, the Optimex 3-layer blown film line, is equipped with newly designed components such as extruders, gravimetric weighing and dosing, a Maxicone C die and a film sizing cage. W&H also unveiled its new Aquarex line, which uses a water film to rapidly cool the film bubble and provides improved transparency, toughness and more pleasant tactile properties.

The manufacturer also rolled out a new Opticool air ring system and the Filmatic N film winder, the latter of which is available for film widths of up to 360 centimeters (141.73 inches) and is capable of center, gap and surface winding. W&H also demonstrated a monoaxial film stretching unit (MDO) and nanolayer technology for stretch film production on a Filmex cast line.
