The Association of Industrial Metallizers, Coaters and Laminators (AIMCAL) honored Nordmeccanica's One Shot solvent-free lamination machine with a Technology of the Year Award at the industry group's annual Management Meeting, March 21-24, 2010, in La Jolla, Calif. The judges liked the One Shot's ability to streamline the lamination process and its sustainability benefits.

The One Shot is designed to perform a 3-ply solvent-free lamination for flexible substrates in one single pass, using solvent-free adhesives on both coating stations. The machine achieves this goal by bringing three substrates together at one single lamination nip. The location of the rewind, immediately after the single lamination nip, allows for perfect control of the process and stability of the laminated compound despite the very low shear resistance allowed by solvent free adhesives.

The One Shot was introduced to the U.S. market at AIMCAL's Fall Technical Conference in 2009.
