Ampac Flexible’s ShakerPak pouch, designed for Foster Turf Products’ “Patch Perfect” lawn repair product, was named a finalist in PackExpo 2008’s survey of innovative packages. Ampac’s flexible container replaces a rigid canister and uses less than 5% of the material (by weight) of its predecessor. A mesh screen built into the bottom of the bag dispenses the seed and chemical product only when the package is shaken; a resealable closure allows for multiple applications. Beside shipping, storage and handling benefits because of its flat format, the package overcomes the challenge of having to dispense the product without scooping or manually handle the product directly from the bag.
