Alcan acquires plant in India

In October, Alcan Global Pharmaceutical Packaging, a division of Alcan Packaging, acquired the Chakan flexible packaging plant from Associated Capsules Private Ltd. in India. While expanding Alcan’s geographic footprint, the purchase of the Chakan facility also reinforces the company’s strategic presence in India’s emerging pharmaceutical market, which is currently ranked 14th in the world in terms of scale and is expected to triple in size over the next decade.
