Finland-based Huhtamaki announced in November that it plans to discontinue flexible packaging production in Malvern, Pa., citing low production volume and unsatisfactory profitability. The converter has begun a restructuring process that will impact half of the 160 employees in the Malvern plant and focus its efforts and resources on the still-profitable films production there.
