The Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) will officially kick off its annual Fall Conference with a session dubbed “The Great Flexo Digital Plate Debate.”

The two-and-one-half hour session will host a panel of representatives from each of the major digital platemaking suppliers who will be discussing the advantages of their plate technology in a relaxed, non-commercial format. With a theme of  “A FIRST Rate Idea: The Future of Flexo & Process Improvement,” FTA’s two-and-one-half day Fall Conference will take place Nov. 8 to 10 in Louisville, Ky.

The debate panel will consist of representatives from Asahi Photoproducts, DuPont Packaging Graphics, Eastman Kodak Company, EskoArtwork, Flint Group, MacDermid Printing Solutions and Toyobo Inc. Each supplier will discuss the advantages of its technology, and then comment on how the solutions address common issues, such as limited plate life, running extra decks, proofs that don’t match the print and high run waste.

The FTA notes that the presenters will represent technical expertise rather than sales or marketing views.
