To support the growing need for barrier films worldwide, ACG Worldwide recently opened a 200,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, ACG Pharmapack. The new facility is dedicated to a full range of films from monolayer polyvinyl chloride and Aclar (polychlorotrifluoroethylene, PCTFE) and other laminates, to Barex (acrylonitrile methyl acrylate copolymer), calendarable PETG (copolyester) and others.

The new facility triples ACG Pharmapack's films output. The facility is ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 1400:2004 certified.

"We are using the latest technology in this plant, keeping in mind the requirements of our domestic and overseas customers,” says Michael Franklin, CEO of ACG Pharmapack. “We are planning 300 percent expansion in the next three years. Currently the production capacity of this plant is more than 18,000 tons—or 40 million pounds—per year. Some of the technologies that we are using here are complex laminations to provide specific barrier properties."

AGC, a pioneer of pharmaceutical barrier films for blister packaging, is known for its barrier packaging solutions in the global pharmaceutical and dietary supplement industries. The company's innovative product range includes high-barrier non-halogenated blister films.

ACG North America is the U.S. subsidiary of ACG Worldwide.
