FPA Releases Key Industry Reports

Recently, the Flexible
Packaging Association released several industry-focused reports including
the 2006 Industry Compensation Report,
Environmental Issues Index - October 2007 and the 3rd Quarter Occupational
Injury & Illness Incidence Rate Report.
Each report offers valuable information and data specific to flexible
packaging companies.
2006 Industry Compensation Report
FPA’s 2006 Industry
Compensation Report provides information on
wage and benefits for both hourly and salaried flexible packaging industry
employees. The Report details the results of the 2006 Industry Compensation
Report Survey, which gathered compensation and benefit information and data
from small (less than $25 million in annual revenue), mid (between $25-100
million in annual revenue) and large (more than $100 million in annual
revenue) flexible packaging converter companies. Survey responses were
received from 29 FPA converter members with employment totaling
approximately 21,000, or 26 percent, of the 80,000 flexible packaging
industry workforce.
The 2006 Compensation
Report also provides industry data focusing on
hourly and salaried employee wages and benefits; Average salary levels
broken down by company/plant size, region and primary manufacturing
operation; flexible packaging hourly and salaried wage and benefit data.
The report is available to FPA converter members participating in the 2006
Industry Compensation Report Survey.
Environmental Issues Index - October 2007
FPA’s Environmental
Issues Index provides a summary of
regulatory issues that may affect the flexible packaging industry. Issued
on a quarterly basis, the Index also details what the association is doing
to minimize the possible adverse affects of these issues on the flexible
packaging industry.
Published in October 2007, the Index provides status
updates on issues such as air and water pollution, hazardous substance, and
emergency preparedness. The FPA Environmental
Issues Index is available to FPA members
only.
Occupational Injury & Illness Incidence Rate Report
Issued in October 2007, the FPA Occupational Injury
& Illness Incidence Rate Report, 3rd Quarter provides data and
information on at work and away from work incidences for FPA member
companies. Available on a quarterly basis, the FPA Occupational Injury & Illness Incidence Rate Report is a valuable tool that assists FPA members in the
evaluation of their safety performance and improvements to their overall
safety programs.

2008 FPA Flexible Packaging Achievement Awards
The winning entries of the 2008 FPA Flexible Packaging
Achievement Awards will be announced during the Welcome & Flexible
Packaging Achievement Awards Dinner, March 5, 2008.
Recognizing the “best of the best” in
flexible packaging, the Welcome & Flexible Packaging Achievement Awards
Dinner will be held in conjunction with FPA’s 58th Annual Meeting
(March 5-7, 2008) at the JW Marriott Grande Lakes in Orlando, Florida.
FPA members and guests will honor flexible packaging
converters and suppliers that have advanced the uses of flexible packaging
through outstanding achievements in technical innovation, environmental and
