United Engravers receives sustainability honors

Schaumburg, Ill.-based United Engravers recently received the 2010 Sustainability Achievement Award from The Flexographic Pre-Press Platemakers Association (FPPA). In winning the award, the flexo plate manufacturer was lauded for its purchase of 25% wind energy in fall 2009 and is considering use of 100% wind energy in the future. Further, the company incorporated green practices throughout its recent facility renovation, from cabinets sourced from sustainable materials through plumbing fixtures that use less water.
