Single-serve milk rebrands with new shrink-sleeve labels

Darigold Inc. recently reintroduced its single-serve milk line-up with colorful, redesigned labels printed and converted by the Seal-It division of Printpack Inc. The milk line is available in six flavors in a new, larger sized ergonomically shaped on-the-go container. The graphics are printed 8-color rotogravure on heat shrink polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The 360-degree image area allows for colorful graphics depicting milk splashing out of a glass, the new “body by milk” tag line, nutrition facts and bar code. The shrink labels work well with the curved shape of the bottle and will have effective shelf impact at retail where the brand and flavor can be easily identified.

Roasting bags available for moderate to high oven temperatures

The new Flavorseal Ovenable Roasting Bags offer food processors vacuum-sealable cook-in bags for roasting at moderate to high oven temperatures. The bag is suitable for a range of products, including raw and pre-cooked poultry, pre-cooked ham and fresh ribs. The bag’s design features a flexible yet puncture-resistant, high-barrier film engineered with a unique formula that involves multiple layers of polymers, rather than the standard single layer. This new high-barrier bag technology extends the shelf life of foods and locks in juices, increasing yields. No bone guard is necessary, so the new Flavorseal Ovenable Roasting Bag makes shipping food more efficient and cost effective, with no spoilage or loss due to tears or punctures. Flavorseal Ovenable Roasting Bags can be sealed on almost any available machine, including a standard rotary sealer.

Microwavable tray/lid package steams foods

A microwavable tray/lid package for steaming produce is the newest addition to the award-winning Simple Steps line of heat-and-serve packaging from Sealed Air’s Cryovac brand. The Simple Steps Lidstock package is comprised of a clear, rigid polypropylene tray with a non-barrier easy-open sealant and a permeable anti-fog coated lidstock.

Fresh produce can be steam cooked in the microwave in minutes, making it a convenient and healthy meal solution that’s easy to handle after heating. Simple Steps Lidstock packages can run on a range of existing equipment. The new offering is available in a variety of sizes, and both the lidstock and the trays come from a single supplier. The new package also allows for printing on the film, representing a cost savings for processors as there is no need for a sleeve around the package.
