Based on ExxonMobil Chemical’s proprietary Exxpol metallocene technology, Vistamaxx propylene-based elastomer offers a unique combination of high elasticity, softness, toughness, flexibility and clarity. Vistamaxx propylene-based elastomer can be used as a blend partner to modify the polymer properties to meet the needs of the application in which it is being used. Vistamaxx propylene-based elastomer can increase flexibility and elasticity, replacing higher cost materials. It can enhance quality and durability of components to reduce breakage during handling or when it is used in low temperature environments. Vistamaxx propylene-based elastomer can be used to maintain clarity while enhancing strength and flexibility. A lower density alternative to PET, PC and PVC, it can be used for downgauging, reducing part thickness and weight. Vistamaxx propylene-based elastomer reduces stress whitening and retains the color and quality of the parts that require bending, such as profiles, tubes and hinges. It also provides a soft, comfort touch grip for consumer products and appliances while providing good chemical resistance. Exhibiting a broad sealing window and low heat seal initiation temperature, Vistamaxx propylene-based elastomer provides flexibility and appealing transparency in film structures. In cast polypropylene films, Vistamaxx provides a better hermetic seals for leak-free, airtight packaging, while enabling high-speed packaging with customer line speeds increased by up to 100 percent. Similar benefits can be gained in other flexible packaging applications such as biaxially oriented polypropylene sealable films and heat shrinkable display packaging films.
