According to a newHarris Interactivesurvey, Americans want their everyday meals to be more creative-and surprisingly, with onions. In fact, 87% say they like to use onions in foods they cook or eat and 65% agree they love crispy onions.

The survey also showed that 78% of adults think adding crispy onions as a topping or ingredient could make foods or recipes more flavorful or exciting-a great way to add crunch and fun to perk up a family's meal. Also, 64% of all adults agree that they would cook more often if they could lessen prep time without sacrificing freshness and nutrition-giving substance to the convenience trend that is at the heart of many flexible packaging structures.

Harris Interactive fielded the Onion study on behalf of Seneca Farms, North America's largest manufacturer of processed fruits and vegetables, from April 12-April 14 via the QuickQuery online omnibus service, among 2,729 adults ages 18 and up.
