Rotomec recently celebrated 50 years in the gravure printing and laminating segments by opening its doors at the company's S. Giorgio Monterrato, Italy, technology center May 26–June 1. More than 250 visitors representing 34 individual converters attended the week-long event featuring question-and-answer sessions with Rotomec staff as well as live presentations and demonstration runs on four operating printing and laminating presses, including:

• The new RS 4003MPHS gravure press, equipped with the latest quality and productivity enhancing features and functions, including the Totally Automatic Pre-Register Setting (TAPS) system. Engineered for high-speed printing, the RS 4003 can print on a range of materials at speeds up to 1,640 feet per minute.

• An MW80 gravure press equipped with TAPS, specifically engineered for medium web, short-run printing.

• The CL 850 duplex laminator featuring the Rotomec flexo coating system engineered for coating solvent-based adhesive directly on thin aluminum foil at high speeds.

• The SL 850 duplex laminator featuring the solventless lamination configuration specifically engineered for high speed applications.
