Custom-engineered nip stations now feature welded aluminum frames, resulting in lower unit costs, shorter lead times and improved maintenance options. Rugged light- and medium-duty models are ideal for laminating, thermal bonding, web heating/cooling and web pulling and squeezing. The new aluminum frame model handles nip loads up to 2,000 pounds, while the company’s cast iron or steel frame units produce up to 25,000 pounds of nip load. Each station can be configured vertically or horizontally and customized with doctor blades, dual-roll gear drives, heating or cooling rolls, along with adjustable nip pressures and gaps.
