Digital UV coating system speeds production, lowers costs
April 1, 2009
JETvarnish, branded as the first offline digital ink jet spot ultraviolet (UV) coater, runs up to 20 x 29 inch sheets and can handle virtually any size job with full variable data capabilities. Computer-controlled drop-on-demand printheads permit precise spot coverage and the integrated ozone-free UV lamp yields instant drying. Compared to offset or screen spot methods, the press lowers production costs as it requires no plates, screens or messy cleanup and requires little make-ready. The unit eliminates waste of raw materials and packaging, is ozone and solvent free, and uses “green” consumables.
