Gravure laminating ink offers exceptional adhesion on high-barrier substrates
May 1, 2009
Now available to North American printers, Belle Color rotogravure laminating inks use a new, proprietary resin system that does not require methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) or toluene. Designed for retort pouches, boil-in-bag and snack food applications, Belle Color inks do not require special additives or cross linkers to adhere to many films, including high-barrier polyester coated with aluminum or silicone oxide (AlOx or SiOx), and general purpose substrates like polyolefins, polyester, cellophane and nylon. The inks work well with solventless, solvent-based or water-based dry bond adhesives and feature excellent lamination bond strength.
