The Model 344 dual-turret slitter rewinder has reduced slitting cycles that once took 40 to 50 minutes down to less than eight minutes to complete. Thanks to new idler and driven roll designs, the unit boasts a top machine speed of up to 3,000 feet per minute (fpm), depending on material and slit widths. The machine also includes a shaftless floor pick-up unwind with twin drive motors, one on each side; static elimination both under and over web; web clamp; and web guide (line and edge). The slitter rewinder also stands ready for the future with a razor slitting section prepared to accept shear and auto knife positioning if needed at a later time. Finally, a proprietary tabber and roll enveloper system provide consistent, controlled cut-off and taping of finished rolls and taping to new cores.
