Innovia Films’ compostable, cellulose-based material, NatureFlex NVS, is helping to spread the healthy eating message in Italian schools. The E.U. funded ‘Frutta nelle Scuole’ (School Fruit Scheme) ensures children aged 6-11 years old are given individually wrapped portions of fresh organic fruit.

The transparent NatureFlex NVS film used in this application is converted and sold to packers by Italian company, Corapack Srl, founded by Massimo Radice. Corapack has many years experience in perforating and printing various flexible films.

NatureFlex offers advantages for packing and converting, such as inherent dead fold and anti-static properties, high gloss and transparency, resistance to grease and oil, good barrier to gases, aromas and mineral oils and a wide heat-seal range. NatureFlex NVS has been specifically formulated to offer improved stiffness under chill cabinet conditions and a controlled level of moisture permeability with a heat-sealable conversion-friendly coating on both sides.
