Flex Films start up new state-of-the-art polyester film plant in USA
Flex Films, the Global Films Business arm of the India-based US$ 1.2 billion UFLEX Group, has started commercial production at its new state-of-the-art greenfield facility in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, USA. This facility incorporates USA’s first 8.7 meter wide Biaxially Oriented Polyester (BOPET) Film line running at 500 meters per minute, the largest of its kind in the world, with an annual capacity of 36,000 MT of film. A second 8.7 meter wide film line is planned at this facility.
With this, Flex Films will be able to effect deliveries of freshly manufactured films within 7days to all customers in North America. With the commissioning of this plant, Flex Films’ annual global BOPET FILM capacity goes up to 300,000 MT and this reinforces their status as the world’s leading manufacturers of Polyester Films for Packaging applications.
