Gloucester
Engineering Co. (GEC) announces that they have sold two new 8 up cast stretch
film lines to Scientex in Malaysia. It will be their highest output stretch
film line ever sold in the Asia-Pacific region.
This is the
third time in five years that Scientex has expanded their production capacity,
and each time they have used GEC equipment. Scientex now will now have 5
complete GEC lines in their facility, believed to now have the most stretch
film capacity under one roof in the world. Their production is expected to
reach over 150,000 mt/year.
The two new
lines come with GEC’s latest update to the 1002DS winder for thin film
production, a machine that now surpasses all winding industry standards. The
film produced can routinely be as thin as 8uM without any need for special raw
materials.
Scientex’s
Managing Director, Mr. PJ Lim, claims, “the uptime, output, and efficiency
offered by the GEC machines allows us to successfully pursue our low cost, high
production model, and we are excited to continue to partner with GEC in our
quest to become the world leader in stretch film production.”
Carl Johnson, President of GEC, agrees: “we proudly continue to support
Scientex in all their production equipment needs. Their growth joined with our
50 years of experience has been a recipe for success so far, and we look
forward to continuing to do business with them.”
