Primarily dedicated to publication printing, Publishers Printing Co., has purchased a Mark Andy Performance Series P7 press to add label production to its services. The upcoming October installation of the in-line flexo press will play an integral role in broadening the scope of the company's printing capabilities in an effort to expand its customer base.
Publishers Printing Co. is a fifth-generation, family-owned company in Shepherdsville, Ky. Its research for high-end, complex pressure-sensitive label production as an addition to its existing product portfolio led it to move forward with in-line flexo technology, which led it to Mark Andy.
The company purchased a 17-inch, 10-color P7 Performance Series press, which includes added features such as a film package, web turnbar, cold foil and rotary screen capabilities. The printing company found that the P7 had a wider web, faster run speed, quicker changeover capabilities and was the most user-friendly versus competitive presses.
"The versatility of the press allows us to print and finish any configuration of labels and accepts a wide variety of substrates,” says Susan Reschar, sales manager, label and packaging division, Publishers Printing Co. “The decision to purchase the P7 as our first flexo press was unanimous by our research team.”
