ISO
Poly Films, Inc., a Sigma Plastics Group company, announces the purchase of a
fourth blown film extrusion line from Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corporation
in less than 18 months, representing the company’s strong commitment to growth
to meet the specialty film needs of its customers. The new line is a
three-layer co-extrusion line and comes on the heels of the installation of a
seven-layer barrier, five-layer barrier and another three-layer co-extrusion
line. The purchase of the newest line will increase ISO Poly’s annual film
output to 100 million pounds.
The
new high output 126” three-layer VAREX line, which is expected to be fully
operational by early first quarter 2011, consists of 90/135/90.30D extruders,
32” MAXICONE C Die with OPTIFIL P2K gauge control, Multinip oscillating
haul-off and Filmatic S dual winder with reverse winding capability.
“With
Sigma Plastics Group support, we have been able to continue our aggressive
growth plans and make significant investments to increase our capabilities to
produce specialty films and expand our capacity to keep pace with the demands
of our growing customer base,” says Jon McClure, president and COO of ISO Poly
Films. “The W&H lines provide us with the advanced technology and reliable
performance we need to sustain our superior level of film quality.”
“When
I think back to the first line that we sold to ISO Poly back in 2000, I never
would have imagined the growth and success that they would have with their
expansion into barrier films (five and seven layer) and reputation as a top
quality film supplier,” says Andrew Wheeler, vice president of W&H. “It is
a testament to their vision and leadership, and we are proud to be their
partner,” he adds.
Alfred
Teo, Chairman and CEO of the Sigma Plastics Group, adds, “We have more than 20
W&H multi-layer extrusion lines throughout our facilities, and I’m
extremely happy with the quality of the machinery and service from W&H.”
ISO
Poly Films and Sigma Plastics Group formed a strategic partnership in 2009. ISO
Poly has experienced significant growth during the past two years and is the
flagship company of Sigma’s multi-layer specialty films division. From its 135,000-square
foot state-of-the-art facility in Gray Court, S.C., ISO Poly produces a wide
range of custom-engineered films, including critical application mono-layer,
three-layer, five-layer and seven-layer high barrier co-extrusions, for the
high-end converter market. The new W&H line brings ISO Poly’s total film
lines to 11 and represents the last phase of a $35 million investment to expand
its facility and equipment.
