By the end of the year, Massachussetts-based Danafilms will double both the size of its Franklin, Ky., manufacturing facility and its coextrusion capabilities. The plant’s 50,000-square foot expansion will provide much-needed warehouse space for raw materials and outbound orders, along with room for additional extrusion lines.
At the end of the fourth quarter, DanaFilms will also add a Windmoeller & Hoelscher 7-layer coextrusion blown film line. The new line will be installed in November and features an automatic gauge control system, internal bubble cooling, a gravimetric blending system, and an oscillating haul-off.
“We see new, significant growth going into the coextrusion direction,” says Steve Crimmin, sales manager. “We’re looking at a number of different avenues to capitalize on this growth, and this new line is one way of doing that.”
