As the demand for ready-meals
grows and additional market opportunities are identified, Sealed Air’s Cryovac
food packaging brand continues to expand its Cryovac Simple Steps product line,
including the latest innovation and unique upscale plate design, which combines
the convenience and simplicity of heat-and-serve packaging with enhanced
aesthetic appeal. Meeting the unfulfilled need for a gourmet look for the
heat-and-serve category, the new Cryovac Simple Steps product facilitates a new
level of upscale consumer experience for the ready meals market.
Developed for consumers and foodservice
operations, the Cryovac Simple Steps plate maintains all the benefits
associated with the original Cryovac Simple Steps line of products including
the unique vacuum-skin package, which provides steam-assisted cooking,
self-venting and eliminates the need for package perforation. These innovations
enable the ultimate in convenience, as consumers do not need to cut, peel or
otherwise open the package to facilitate cooking.
“Sealed Air continuously examines
ways to innovate the ready meals market with our Cryovac brand solutions,” says
Sean Brady, Sealed Air marketing director for Cryovac ready meals. “We changed
the ready meals market a few years ago with the original Cryovac Simple Steps
package by offering a packaging solution that improved both convenience and
quality for microwavable products. We’re now taking it one step further to
elevate ready meals into an experience similar to eating a restaurant or
upscale dining setting.”
The Cryovac Simple Steps plate was
developed with foodservice and retail applications in mind. Foodservice
operators using the Cryovac Simple Steps plate will benefit from consistent
product quality across multiple-unit locations, accurate portioning and labor
savings associated with the elimination of the need for plating after heating.
Also, the Cryovac Simple Steps plate naturally lends itself to accommodating
institutional and non-traditional foodservice operations such as hospitals and
hotel room service.
