AIPIA, the Active and Intelligent Packaging Industry Association has officially launched its next Congress (Nov. 2-4) with the theme of "Profiting from Active & Intelligent Packaging." The event will be held in conjunction with Pack Expo International and PharmaExpo, owned and organised by PMMI, in Chicago.
AIPIA Launches Next Congress
March 21, 2014
AIPIA managing director Eef de Ferrante says, “The conversation up to now has been about how, when and how much. But we are seeing more and more acceptance and understanding of the value of A&IP. Currently the most common questions are about: ‘What can it do for our Bottom Line’? So it is time to focus on how these technologies can generate profits and improve margins.”
The third AIPIA Congress is set to bring more than 300 packaging industry leaders and innovators to hear over 30 speakers covering topics across the whole A&IP spectrum. Already the latest developments in printed electronic, anti-counterfeiting, active solutions, nano-technology and RFID/tagging will be covered. But special sessions on ROI and investment issues, including new machine requirements, will be included for the first time.
“Our alliance with PMMI, who are fully supporting the Congress, gives us a huge opportunity to increase awareness of A&IP and its benefits. We are fully aware that this is the largest packaging machine show on the planet and that printing, packaging and converting equipment is an important part of the A&IP equation,” says de Ferrante.
The Congress also features an expanded demonstration area under the title "Seeing is Believing" where more than 20 A&IP providers of products and services will demonstrate the latest solution for all end user sectors and Brand Owners.
The association is embarking on an extensive B2B awareness campaign throughout 2014 which will include several appearances at other important events, including interpack – where it will collaborate with ITENE, the packaging, transport and logistics research centre based in Spain, in a road-mapping workshop on Active and Intelligent Packaging Technologies; the European Paper & Pulp Outlook Conference in Prague; the WIMA Conference on NFC (Near Field Communication) and mobile commerce in Monaco and awebinar on Active & Intelligent Packaging for Brand Protection with Industry Intelligence.
In conjunction with PMMI it will participate in the PMMI - Pack Expo Possibilities in Packaging Innovation Pavilion at the Food Marketing Institute’s exposition in Chicago in June. AIPIA will host a Knowledge Desk and show examples of A&IP technologies for the retail sector.
Full details of the AIPIA Congress is available on the Association website: www.aipia.info and the speaker programme will be updated to include the latest information as it is confirmed.
