Maguire Products, Inc. has appointed Frank Kavanagh to be vice president of global sales, the company announces.
Kavanagh will oversee worldwide sales of all Maguire auxiliary equipment systems, including gravimetric blenders, vacuum dryers, loading systems, feeders, liquid color pumps, granulators, and related equipment and software. He assumes these responsibilities from vice president B. Patrick (Pat) Smith, who will continue to be in charge of global marketing and product development and will now focus on Maguire’s newest and potentially far-reaching product offering, the VBD vacuum dryer.
“Frank has more than 25 years of plastics equipment sales experience and has been a vital contributor to the success of Maguire Products since he joined our company in 2001,” says Steve Maguire, president. “His promotion enables Pat Smith to mount a comprehensive strategy to convert plastics processors worldwide from conventional desiccant dryers to the radically different and far more efficient technology of vacuum drying.”
Kavanagh joined the plastics industry in 1988. For thirteen years he worked for blow molding equipment manufacturer Jomar Corp. and was the company’s national sales manager when he left to join Maguire in 2001 as a regional sales manager. Subsequently, he became national sales manager and then vice president in charge of U.S. and Latin American sales.
Kavanagh holds a degree in business administration from Ocean County (New Jersey) College. He has served on the national board of SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association, is a member of SPI’s Equipment Council, and is a member of the NPE2015 Sales and Marketing Committee.
