ProAmpac has acquired Vitex Packaging Group, a converter and printer of flexible packaging materials based in Suffolk, Virginia.

Operating as parent company over the Prolamina, Ampac, and Tulsack brands, ProAmpac offers multiple innovative solutions in flexible packaging for the food, pet care and medical markets, along with secure packaging for the transport of cash and valuables, and retail shopping bags.

Vitex Packaging started in the tea packaging business in 1954 and has continued to service both large and small companies in North America and internationally. With several presses and upgraded plate-making, slitting and pouching capabilities, Vitex has expanded over the years into the medical, pharmaceutical, health and beauty, and food and beverage markets.

Greg Tucker, CEO of ProAmpac, says, “We are pleased to welcome Vitex to the ProAmpac family. We continue to invest in opportunities that deliver an even greater array of quality products, innovation, and outstanding customer service to the marketplace, and continues to solidify ProAmpac as a leader in the flexible packaging industry.”

Vitex will retain its brand name and operate under ProAmpac’s Extrusion Lamination Division. Rita Cox, president of the ProAmpac Extrusion Lamination Division states, "We are excited to join with this great team of people to offer our customers unsurpassed value in flexible packaging. Vitex Packaging is known for their operational excellence, and we plan on leveraging that expertise across ProAmpac.”
