New design-enabling technologies for Flexible Packaging
Barrier enhancement is one of the areas of intensive investment in innovation in the industry. The market offers a variety of solutions. Each one showing either limitations on performance or difficulties in the conversion process. Resulting in large scrap rate, high costs of manufacturing and limited performance. This paper presents an innovation that is proved to feature ease of handling and top of the industry performance in Oxygen and Moisture barrier enhancement for flexible packaging. Results have been allowed by the combined effects of state of the art vacuum metallization and innovation in functional coatings.
