Ecolean, a global producer of lightweight packaging solutions for both ambient and chilled distribution of liquid food, launches the EL1+ filling machine for chilled family-sized packages. The new machine is the company’s fourth machine launch within two years, supporting Ecolean’s goal to provide a lighter life for both liquid food producers and consumers worldwide.

A new, simplified design more than doubles capacity compared to the previous model, enabling customers to produce more with less in the same footprint. Increasing capacity while saving resources makes an impact to customers and the environment. EL1+ increases product safety and quality with a fully automated cleaning system of the filling zone that ensures the same level of hygiene at the start of every production cycle.

“We are proud to develop our proven and existing technology even further to help food and beverage producers do more with less,” says Christian Olsson, Director Filling Lines at Ecolean. “We know that the industry continuously evolves and so should the efficiency of our equipment. Ecolean strives to make operations easier for our customers as well as keeping both the footprint and environmental impact light. The EL1+ and our recent machine upgrades support that committment.”

The EL1+ reduces complexity and utility consumption while increasing hygiene with a completely redesigned filling chamber that features four fillers instead of two to increase capacity up to 140 percent. A newly designed infeed servo system handles packages in a single cam movement to fill Ecolean Air 500 ml, 1000 ml and 1500 ml packages. EL1+ has a capacity of up to 7000 packages per hour.

The outfeed is also redesigned to improve connectability and interface better with auxiliary equipment. The EL1+ uses a new HMI and the latest Omron control system that features a virtual master servo axis to improve machine performance and ease of operation. Other options for the EL1+ include an applicator for Ecolean’s patented reclosing SnapQuick closure and an air-handling unit to provide the filling system with HEPA-filtered air.
