Through
the association’s sustainability initiatives and activities, FPA consistently
works to effectively communicate that flexible packaging is a sustainable
packaging solution for retailers, consumer product manufacturers and consumers.
Recently,
FPA’s Environmental & Safety Committee met at FPA headquarters in
Linthicum, Maryland. The meeting serves as a primary forum for interaction,
open discussion and networking among flexible packaging environmental and
safety professionals.
Last month, copies of the highly anticipated flexible packaging sustainability brochure were sent to all FPA members. This education and marketing brochure, entitled“Sustainability and Flexible Packaging: More Value. Less Waste,” communicates the benefits, sustainability and functionality of flexible packaging.
Recently, the Flexible
Packaging Association announced the winning entries of the 52nd annual FPA
Flexible Packaging Achievement Awards. This year, 75 flexible packaging
entries and 99 competition category entries were received for the 2008
competition. Twenty-six flexible packaging entries were honored with a
total of 29 Achievement Awards. The awards were presented during the
Welcome & Flexible Packaging Achievement Awards Dinner, which was held
in conjunction with the 2008 FPA Annual Meeting.
