ICE USA 2013 floor plan.

With several months still remaining before ICE USA 2013 in Orlando, April 9-11, the show is expanding at a record pace and is already larger in square footage than the very successful 2011 event. We recently had to expand the floor space by 15,000 square feet to accommodate the demand for more exhibitors and larger booths.

As the largest dedicated converting show in North America with more than 300 exhibiting companies, it is the ideal place for converters to see all the latest machinery and equipment. More than three dozen 2011 exhibitors have expanded their booth space so they can bring more equipment and running machinery.

We are also continuing to attract European companies that exhibit at other ICE events around the world and have decided to showcase their equipment in North America. In addition, over 70 new companies have signed up to exhibit and we expect that figure to continue growing as we get closer to the show.

The Place to Be

ICE USA 2013 is where the converting decision makers come to buy. According to a post-show survey we conducted after the 2011 show, converters from around the world bought several million dollars worth of equipment. For example, New Era credits over $2 million dollars in sales to meetings they had in Orlando, and Ashe Converting reported strong sales and leads. Some companies sold equipment off of the show floor, and Rick Garber of Busch Electronics said that of all the shows in which he has exhibited, ICE 2011 was definitely one of the best.

Thousands of attendees came from the leading converting companies in North America and South America, and we are confident that that number will be much larger in 2013. We recently launched our visitor marketing campaign that includes dozens of ads and articles in more than 21 leading trade publications and extensive direct mail and digital promotions.

Moving on Up

But we are not resting on our laurels as we have many additional features in store for 2013. We have expanded our highly successful conference program to include several new sessions and participating associations. So joining AIMCAL, CEMA and TAPPI PLACE in presenting educational sessions will be the Pressure Sensitive Tape Council (PSTC), AWA and RadTech.

The 2013 Education Conference will be the most comprehensive in the converting industry, and attendees will be able to learn about all the latest trends and technologies in the sessions, and then see the technology in action on the show floor.

We will also be expanding our very popular “Ask The Experts” section where attendees can make appointments to get free one-on-one advice from some of the leading industry experts. Several 2011 attendees said they gained valuable solutions that saved their companies significant resources.

In addition, we will be unveiling the Technology Showcase Theater on the show floor where attendees will have the opportunity to hear brief presentations from exhibitors about cutting-edge products and technologies. We will also be announcing additional new features targeted to specific industry segments in the near future.

Work Hard, Play Hard

And of course, the popular ICE USA Golf Tournament will again take place the day before the Show on April 8.  Many exhibitors and attendees are bringing their families to take advantage of all of the attractions and entertainment Orlando has to offer. For people like me who live in the northern part of the country, it will be a great place to recover from the cold winter and chilly spring.

All early indications are that ICE USA 2103 will be the industry’s don’t-miss event of the year. The economy is expected to continue improving so converters will be coming to buy. Hotel registration is now open so we encourage everyone to make their plans now to take advantage of some great deals.
